Chris Murphy
For 25 years, the brilliantly talented multi-instrumentalist Chris Murphy has made his living through music. Chris Murphy was born in the New York area to an Irish-Italian family. His childhood was dominated by many musical influences, including Italian mandolin music, bluegrass and folk. Over the years, Chris has recorded an extensive catalog of more than 500 works, released 16 solo albums, and his diverse talents make him a sought-after composer for films. He has recorded with members of Wilco, fIREHOSE, The Waterboys, Buena Vista Social Club and Grant Lee Buffalo, and has performed in the United States, England, Ireland and the Netherlands. Murphy finds his groove on stage, where spontaneity and improvisation reign. His energetic performances showcase his virtuosity as they thrill the audience with his music and stories. Two Chris Murphy albums will be released in 2024: a retrospective of his entire career and a reissue of his album “Sovereign” in September.
